Amman, the capital of Jordan. Amman is a modern city with numerous ancient ruins, including the Roman Theater, a 6,000-capacity, 2nd-century stone amphitheater.

Madaba.The remains of the oldest known map (Masada Mosaic Map) of the Holy Land, painstakingly assembled from more than a million pieces of coloured stone, lie on the floor of a church in the Jordanian city of Madaba – “the City of Mosaics”.

Mount Nebo where Moses viewed the Promised Land of Canaan (Land of Milk and Honey)— after having been told by God “you shall not cross over there”. On a clear day, today’s pilgrims can see the panorama Moses viewed: The Dead Sea, the Jordan River valley, Jericho, Bethlehem and the distant hills of Jerusalem.

Petra (Rose-Red city) is a spectacular ancient city nestled away in mountains south of the Dead Sea and made famous for having many stone structures carved into the rock. Ain Mousa (Spring of Moses), is the area’s principal water source and also thought to be the place where Moses struck a rock to extract water as mentioned in Numbers 20. Petra was also used in the movie “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” as the hiding site of the Holy Grail. Here, when you enter the entrance to Petra, you will take either a horse or donkey to transport you down the valley leading to Petra where you will see all the magnificent structures. This area is also the ancient land of the Edomites, the descendants of Esau (Gen 36: 9).

Wadi Rum – a UNESCO Heritage Site. Also known as ‘The Valley of the Moon’, this is the place where Prince Faisal Bin Hussein and T.E. Lawrence based their headquarters during the Arab Revolt against the Ottomans in World War I, The Bedouin people that inhabit the area still maintain their semi-nomadic lifestyle. They are hospitable and offer a friendly welcome to visitors, often inviting them to sit and enjoy a coffee or even a meal.

Enter to the ancient city through the gorge called the Siq. As you reach the end of the Siq you will catch your first glimpse of Al-Khazneh (Treasury). A massive façade, 30m wide and 43m high, carved out of the sheer, dusky pink rock-face and dwarfing everything around it. It was carved in the early 1^st century as the tomb of an important Nabataean king and represents the engineering genius of these ancient people.
